Francisco Riera Vall, builder by trade, started a small construction company in 1845 which achieved great fame by taking part in works as significant as the façade and dome of la Seo in the Cathedral of Barcelona and the cloisters and interior areas of the Bishopric and the Seminary. |
| He was succeeded by his son, Francisco Riera Gossé, who following the scrupulous training he received from his father, enlarged the family business alongside his offspring, Francisco de Paula and Antonio Riera Clariana, turning it into Francisco Riera, SA in 1933. His son Franciso worked as an architect and Antonio as the company manager. They maintained a renowned and prolific relationship with the Modernist Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, thanks to whom they built their most famous triad: the Ametller House on the Passeig de Gràcia, the Les Punxes House and the Palacio del Barón de Cuadras (Palace of the Baron of Cuadras) on the Diagonal in Barcelona. |

| In 1946, another new expansion stage guided by Francisco de Paula Riera Martos (Francisco de Paula Riera Clariana’s son) led to a new designation: Construcciones RIERA SA. Some of the notable works from this era are the La Salle Bonanova School in Barcelona and the La Suiza building on the Passeig de Gràcia. These generations of entrepreneurs set the foundations of our company. |
